The result of a search will be displayed as a result list.
The columns displayed correspond to the data fields which you have selected on the search form in the "Configure result list" section.
The serial numbers of the individual results will be displayed in the first column of each result list.
The second column contains a checkbox. Tick the checkbox to select the relevant result. All selected results will be shown in a separate result list if you click the "Show selection" button.
The fields "File number" and "Type of IP right" are selected by default and cannot be disabled. The following columns display the chosen fields in the order provided on the input screen.
If you select the field "Status", the current legal/procedural status will be displayed for each result: either "Pending/in force" or "Not pending/lapsed".

Information regarding the date displayed in the column of the result list "Application date":
The date shown in one of the three data fields "DE application date", "EP application date" or "WO application date" will be displayed as application date in the result list, more specifically, that of the first field containing a date, following the sequence above.
For example, the European filing date of the data field "EP application date" is displayed as application date in the result list for the file of an EP procedure found in the search, for which no "DE file number" exists yet and hence no date is yet shown in the field "DE application date".
However, as soon as a German file number has been attributed resulting in a date being displayed in the field "DE application date", this date will be displayed in the "Application date" column of the result list, despite the fact that the data field "EP application date" also contains a date.
Usually, the application dates in the three data fields "DE application date", "EP application date" and "WO application date" do not differ from each other.

Click on the file number to open the register information which shows whether it is a German or a European file number.

A registration date exists only for utility models and topographies.
