DPMAregister provides access to all data presently stored in electronic sources. Essentially, these are all register data recorded after about 1981. Only part of the register data of the period from roughly 1950 to 1981 are available from electronic sources. Register data before 1950 are usually not available electronically and cannot be displayed in DPMAregister.
DPMAregister provides access to all register data relating to IP rights which have not yet lapsed. For older register data not available from electronic sources ( e.g. Mikrofiche collections and patent applications and patents originating from the former GDR), inspection is possible on request only. Requests for inspection may be made to info@dpma.de.
Available data on patents of the Office for Inventions and Patents (GDR)
The available data comprise patent applications from 1951 to 1990. As of 1981, an electronic data record with legal (procedural) status information is available for each published DD patent application.
Register information on EP file numbers:
Before the grant of an EP patent, not all fields ( e.g. inventor or applicant/owner) of EP applications contain data, due to reasons of quality assurance.
Please refer to the website of the office that keeps the register (European Patent Office ) for more detailed information.
Register information on WO file number::
for WO applications with a German designation, for quality reasons, not all fields in DPMAregister ( e.g. inventor or applicant/owner) are filled with data until the national or regional phase is initiated.

Register information on topographies :
The available data comprises all topographies of microelectronic semiconductor products still pending and in force on the qualifying date of 1 February 2012.
To view the legal (procedural) status information choose, for example, the search mode "Basic search" and enter the file number in the field "File number / publication number".

Please note that there are no published documents for topographies.
The bibliographic data of older topography applications, not longer in force on the qualifying date, can be inspected on the index cards in the public search rooms in Munich and Berlin.

DPMAregister displays supplementary protection certificates as of the year 1993.
