57	Abstract	AB	[Problem] To provide an airbag device for driver seats which is capable of fully restraining the head and the chest of an occupant and which is applicable even to a non-circular steering wheel. [Solution] An airbag device 100 for driver seats is for restraining an occupant 124 seated on a driver seat (seat 102) of a vehicle. The airbag device is provided with: a chest-protection cushion 120 which is expanded and deployed rearward of a variant steering wheel 106; and a head-protection cushion 122 which is expanded and deployed adjacently above the chest-protection cushion 120. The head-protection cushion 122 is characterized by, when expanded and deployed, extending from the upper part of the chest-protection cushion 120 to the upper surface 134 of an instrument panel 104 and then contacting and restraining the head 126 of the occupant 124 from the front thereof.
