57AbstractABDie vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Feldgerät für die Automatisierungstechnik. Dieses ist in einem Gehäuse aufgenommen, welches aus einem Mehrkantprofil hergestellt ist, das seinerseits von einer Basisplatte und einer Deckelplatte verschlossen ist. Mit der Basisplatte ist ein Basismodul verbunden, welches bei allen Geräten eines Feldbus in gleicher Weise ausgestaltet vorhanden ist, um die Aufgaben der Spannungsversorgung und der Netzwerkanbindung zu bewältigen. Ein Funktionsmodul, das bedarfsweise mit der Deckelplatte verbunden ist, bringt dem Feldgerät eine oder mehrere bestimmte Funktionalitäten, und prägen somit das Feldgerät in einer bestimmten Richtung aus. Es entsteht eine modular aufgebaute Einheit, die zusammen mit anderen gleichartigen Feldgeräten unterschiedlicher Ausprägung nach dem Baukastenprinzip zu einem Automatisierungssystem zusammengefügt werden können.
