57AbstractABA tritium removal device for a lithium loop, having: a neutron source (1) for causing a proton beam to collide with a lithium flow, and generating neutrons; a lithium tank (11), the lithium that has passed the neutron source (1) flowing into the lithium tank through a flow channel (9) and being temporarily stored in the lithium tank; and a lithium pump (17) for returning and supplying the lithium in the lithium tank (11) to the neutron source (1) through a supply-side flow channel (9'). The lithium pump (17) and the lithium tank (11), in which hydrogen gas including tritium readily collects, are sealed in a sealed container (7) containing an inert gas. In the event that hydrogen gas including tritium leaks into the sealed container (7), the hydrogen gas is removed using a hydrogen isotope removal filter. It is made possible to safely remove tritium without causing tritium to disperse into the atmosphere from the lithium loop forming the lithium target flow.
