57	Abstract	AB	Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum thermischen Spritzen, bei dem zwischen zwei Elektroden ein Lichtbogen gezündet wird, wobei mindestens eine der Elektroden im Lichtbogen geschmolzen wird, wobei Partikel aus der geschmolzenen Elektrode durch einen Zerstäubergasstrom (Z) unter Bildung eines Partikelstrahls von einem Zerstäubergasaustritt (2) in Richtung einer zu beschichtenden Oberfläche transportiert werden, wobei um den Zerstäubergasaustritt (2) herum ein Schutzgasstrom (S) ausgeströmt wird, mit dem im Bereich der Oberfläche eine Schutzatmosphäre realisiert wird, wobei der Schutzgasstrom (S) mit einem Drall so versehen wird, dass der Partikelstrahl fokussiert wird. Die Erfindung betrifft weiter eine Vorrichtung (1) zur Durchführung des Verfahrens.
