57AbstractABEine Motorsäge (1) besitzt eine Führungsschiene (5) und eine um die Führungsschiene (5) umlaufend angetriebene Sägekette (6). Die Führungsschiene (5) ist an einem Gehäuse (2) festgelegt. Zwischen Führungsschiene (5) und Gehäuse (2) ist eine Seitenplatte (17, 57) im Befestigungsbereich (61) der Führungsschiene (5) angeordnet. Die Sägekette (6) ist von einem Antriebsritzel (8) angetrieben, das zur Führungsschiene (5) und zur Seitenplatte (17, 57) einen Abstand (f, g) besitzt. Um eine gute Führung der Sägekette (6) und einen einfachen Aufbau der Motorsäge (1) zu erreichen, ist vorgesehen, dass an der Seitenplatte (17, 57) auf der Höhe eines Nietbolzens (25) der Sägekette (6) eine Führung (18) für die Sägekette (6) vorgesehen ist, die etwa parallel zur Ebene der Führungsschiene (5) verläuft.
