57AbstractABEin Kühlsystem (10) zur Kühlung von Wärmelasten (28, 34) an Bord eines Flugzeugs umfasst eine Kälteerzeugungseinrichtung (12), einen thermisch mit der Kälteerzeugungseinrichtung (12) gekoppelten ersten Kälteträgerfluidkreislauf (24), der mit einer ersten Wärmelast (28) verbunden ist, um Wärme von der erste Wärmelast (28) abzuführen, und einen zweiten Kälteträgerfluidkreislauf (30), der mit einer zweiten Wärmelast (34) verbunden ist, um Wärme von der zweiten Wärmelast abzuführen. Ein Kopplungssystem des Kühlsystems (10) ist dazu eingerichtet, den ersten Kälteträgerfluidkreislauf (24) wahlweise thermisch mit dem zweiten Kälteträgerfluidkreislauf (30) zu koppeln oder thermisch von dem zweiten Kälteträgerfluidkreislauf (30) zu entkoppeln. Bei einem Verfahren zum Betreiben eines derartigen Kühlsystems (10) zur Kühlung von Wärmelasten (28, 34) an Bord eines Flugzeugs wird der ersten Kälteträgerfluidkreislauf (24) mittels des Kopplungssystems wahlweise thermisch mit dem zweiten Kälteträgerfluidkreislauf (30) gekoppelt oder thermisch von dem zweiten Kälteträgerfluidkreislauf (30) entkoppelt.
