57AbstractABDie Erfindung betrifft ein Stereomikroskop (60) vom Greenough-Typ, umfassend ein erstes monokulares Mikroskop (2R) und ein zweites monokulares Mikroskop (2L), die einen ersten Strahlengang (20R) bzw. einen zweiten Strahlengang (20L) definieren, wobei das erste und das zweite Mikroskop (2R, 2L) unter einem Konvergenzwinkel (10) zueinander angeordnet sind und Vergrößerungssysteme (26R, 26L) zur Erzeugung übereinstimmender, synchron zueinander veränderbarer Vergrößerungen aufweisen. Es wird vorgeschlagen, dass mindestens ein optisches Element im ersten Mikroskop (2R) im Vergleich zu mindestens einem entsprechenden optischen Element im zweiten Mikroskop (2L) einen anderen optisch wirksamen Durchmesser aufweist. Hierdurch lassen sich über den gesamten Vergrößerungsbereich Vorteile bei der Auflösung als auch bei der Schärfentiefe erzielen.
