Trade marks
The Basic mode allows to carry out searches within the most frequently used search fields by means of simple
queries.
The Advanced search allows you to search in different search fields and to combine the selected fields
according to your needs.
The Expert mode is recommended for users experienced in searches. This mode allows you to create more
complex search queries.
This option is suitable for monitoring new trade mark registrations, which are displayed for the first time
in DPMAregister. You can use the
search criteria "Proprietor" or "Class(es)" for monitoring. It is also possible to combine the specified
criteria in a query.
This mode is suitable to conduct image similarity searches.

In Markenblatt-Online you can search by year, issue, part of the issue and leading class. You also have the
option of further refining your result list with a filter configuration.
Classifications
All goods and services are classified in 45 classes and can be used for preparing lists of goods and
services.
The figurative elements of trade marks are categorised under the Vienna Classification. You can search by
these classes.
